Who this covers
Knotty Twirls is a crochet studio. Pieces are made to order or already in stock. This page explains what we collect when you browse, create an account, or place an order, and how that information is used to make and deliver your piece.
What we collect
When you create an account or check out, we ask for your name, email, mobile number, and delivery address, including city, state, and PIN code. You can also save a WhatsApp number and notes about colour, size, or gift wrapping.
We keep your orders, the pieces in them, payment status, favourites, pieces saved for later, reward points, and any review or chat message you send us. Your password is stored as a hash. We never see or store your full card, UPI, or netbanking details.
If you use the shop before you sign in, a cookie on this browser remembers the cart, pieces saved for later, and favourites. You can leave an email on the cart so we can send that one reminder.
When a browser opens the shop, we save that network address once, along with an approximate city and country, so the studio can see where a new visit came from. Opening the shop again from the same address does not send another note.
Why we use it
- To make, pack, and deliver what you ordered, and to show you an estimated arrival date.
- To take payment, send order emails, and let you cancel an order while that is still allowed.
- To keep your account, favourites, pieces saved for later, and reward points.
- To reply when you write to us.
- To send one reminder if pieces are still in your cart and we have an email for you. That email includes a way to stop further reminders.
- To note, once per network address, the approximate city and country a visit came from.
- To meet tax and accounting duties, including GST where it applies.
We do not sell your information.
Who else sees it
Online payments are handled by Razorpay. They receive the amount and the details needed to complete the payment. We receive a payment reference and whether it succeeded, failed, or was refunded.
To ship a physical piece we share your name, phone number, and address with our courier, currently Delhivery.
Order and account emails are sent from the studio. If address search is turned on at checkout, the text you type is sent to Google so the form can be filled in.
Cookies
A sign-in cookie keeps you logged in for about a month. A guest cookie, kept for about a year, holds a cart, pieces saved for later, and favourites until you sign in or clear it. A visit cookie remembers that this browser’s network address has already been noted, so we do not look it up again on every page. The site may also set cookies that keep WordPress itself working. We do not use these cookies to follow you around other websites.
How long we keep it
We keep orders and the details needed to support them, issue a refund, and meet tax record rules. You can correct your details from Profile, and you can delete the account there when you have no open order. Deleting removes your sign-in, saved addresses, favourites, pieces saved for later, reward points, reviews, chat, and back-in-stock requests. Past orders stay on file.
Children
The shop is for people who can place their own order. We do not aim it at children.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. The version on the site is the one that applies.
